Artist Statement

Welcome to my new web site!

My goal as an artist is to teach people about my aboriginal culture and spiritual connection to the land.  I draw inspiration for my work from personal life experiences and from visions and dreams influenced by my cultural heritage and native spirituality.

Emotion is an integral part of my art.  Vibrant, earthy colors come together to create a vision that is uniquely my own.  Embedded images of animal and human spirits, sometimes hidden to the eye, form the background for the stories, legends and teachings that I tell.

In honor of my people’s traditions, I use only a simple tool, a hand-held fret saw, to do my work and non-toxic products: wood, natural pigments and bees wax.
